Full itinerary

  1. Arrive Paro

Meet your guide at Paro Airport and transfer to your hotel in the valley. Take the afternoon to settle in, with a short walk nearby if your arrival time allows. In the evening, review the route and the next day's arrangements with the team.

Stay: Naksel Boutique Hotel Paro or similar

    Meals: Dinner

  2. Paro to Jele Dzong Camp

Meet the trekking team and begin the climb above Paro toward Jele Dzong. Follow the trail through forest and steadily gaining height, with rests arranged around your pace. The afternoon brings you toward the camp area, where you can settle in before the temperature drops. If access and daylight allow, spend time around the dzong setting. Finish the evening with dinner at camp and a briefing on tomorrow's route and weather.

    Stay: Jele Dzong Trek Camp

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  3. Jele Dzong to Jangchulakha

Leave the Jele Dzong area and follow the trail through forest and open yak-pasture country toward Jangchulakha. Keep a steady pace on the ridges, pausing where the weather opens views across the hills. The walking day leaves time to settle into camp rather than pressing on after dark. Spend the late afternoon resting or taking photographs nearby, then gather for dinner and discuss the next day's lake stage with your guide.

    Stay: Jangchulakha Trek Camp

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  4. Jangchulakha to Jimilangtsho

Walk onward from Jangchulakha toward Jimilangtsho, with high ridges and lake country shaping the day. Your guide manages the pace and breaks so the group stays together on the exposed sections. Mountain views depend on visibility, and the camp arrival takes priority over extra detours. After reaching the lake camp, rest and enjoy the setting from nearby paths before dinner. Keep the evening quiet as you prepare for the following high-altitude stage.

    Stay: Jimilangtsho Trek Camp

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  5. Jimilangtsho to Phajoding

Leave Jimilangtsho and continue through the high lakes and ridges toward the Phajoding camp area. This is a longer stage, so the team starts early and adjusts breaks around the terrain and weather. Keep photographs and pauses within the walking schedule rather than extending the day with detours. On reaching camp, change into warm clothing and rest before dinner. The guide reviews the descent to Thimphu planned for the next morning.

    Stay: Phajoding Trek Camp

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  6. Descend to Thimphu and Drive Paro

Begin the descent from Phajoding toward Thimphu, following the lower trails back into forest. Take care on the downhill sections and allow breaks for the group to keep a comfortable pace. Meet the vehicle at the roadhead and continue to Paro for a hotel night. After several nights under canvas, the afternoon and evening are for washing, resting and dinner, with no extra sightseeing required before tomorrow's departure.

Stay: Naksel Boutique Hotel Paro or similar

    Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

  7. Departure from Paro

After breakfast, check out and meet your driver for the private transfer to Paro Airport. The pickup follows your confirmed flight time, allowing for luggage and airport formalities. Your Bhutan journey ends at the airport, with no additional sightseeing scheduled on the departure morning.

    Stay: Departure

    Meals: Breakfast
