Questions before you book
What is the sā Ladakh Biennale?
It is a high-altitude contemporary art biennale in Ladakh, where artworks, screenings, conversations and site-responsive projects unfold across landscapes, monasteries, villages, heritage spaces and local communities instead of a conventional gallery setting.
When will The Himalayan Canvas bookings open?
The previous 2026 booking window has closed. Bookings for the next private art-led edition open for 2027 after the new programme window, venue access, permissions and stay availability are confirmed.
What might guests experience during the Biennale?
Depending on the official programme, guests may experience site-responsive art installations, DIFF film screenings, artist talks, workshops, monastery and village-based venues, heritage walks, photography moments and conversations with local cultural spaces.
Is this a fixed group departure?
No. The Himalayan Canvas is designed as a private curated journey. Dates, pacing, stay category and event access are confirmed on WhatsApp after your group details and the official Biennale schedule are checked.
Who is this journey best for?
It is best for art lovers, photographers, architects, designers, writers, collectors, culturally curious couples and small private groups who prefer a slower, more thoughtful way to experience Ladakh.
How do private dates work?
For now, guests can join the 2027 waitlist. Once the next art and culture window is announced, we align your private dates around altitude pacing, programme access, road conditions and your preferred stay category.
Can I pay the booking advance online?
Not yet. This journey is now in 2027 waitlist mode, so payment links open only after dates, stays, programme access and pricing are confirmed by the team.
Will the route follow the official Biennale schedule?
Yes, the journey is planned around the official programme as it becomes available. Venues, artist talks, screenings, workshops and access timings may shift, so the final route is adjusted before departure.
What should I know before booking?
Leh is high altitude, so the first day is intentionally relaxed. Prices are per person for Indian travellers, based on private SUV travel and premium stays. Flights, lunches, personal expenses, 5% GST, insurance and any special Biennale access fees are extra unless confirmed in writing.
