Nomad Festival Escape

Bookings for the next Nomad Festival Escape open for the 2027 edition. Dates, festival programme, Korzok rooms and pricing will be confirmed after the official window is announced.

The Changthang Nomadic Festival is one of Ladakh's rarest cultural windows: a short, high-altitude gathering where the Changpa world of Korzok, Tso Moriri and the eastern plateau becomes visible through music, dress, horse culture, pashmina traditions, local food and ceremony. It belongs to a remote pastoral landscape where people, animals, lake, wind and altitude still shape daily life. The 2026 journey window has closed. Bookings for the next Nomad Festival Escape will open for the 2027 edition after the official festival dates, local programme and Korzok stay availability are confirmed. The planned route remains Leh, Chumathang, Mahe/Puga side, Tso Moriri, Korzok, Hanle and Umling La, but exact dates and pricing are held until the 2027 operating window is announced. Because Korzok and Tso Moriri have very limited rooms during the festival period, the plan remains availability-first. Himalayan Locals checks stays, permits, road conditions and altitude pacing before final confirmation, then shapes Pangong, Nubra, extra nights or comfort add-ons around your group.

Questions before you book

When will Nomad Festival Escape bookings open?

The 2026 journey window has closed. Bookings for the next Nomad Festival Escape will open for the 2027 edition after official festival dates, local programme details and Korzok room availability are confirmed.

Can we customize this plan?

Yes. The main published plan is Nomad Festival Escape because the festival is the focus. Pangong, Nubra, extra Leh nights, room upgrades or vehicle preferences can be added after Korzok availability and road conditions are checked.

Which stay tier should I choose?

The published table uses the recommended Premium Festival Escape pricing. Premium uses Leh - Kesar Palace / Sammaya Inn / Maitreya Ladakh, Tso Moriri - Kailash Homestay / Lake View Hotel, and Hanle - Padam Homestay / Crane Resort / Sangrik Resort or similar. Deluxe and Luxury changes are quoted live after checking rooms, route conditions and your group size. No sharing washrooms are planned; final room type is confirmed before payment.

Can I pay the booking advance online?

Not yet. This trip is now in 2027 waitlist mode. Payment links open only after the 2027 festival dates, room availability, group size and stay tier are confirmed by the team.

Is accommodation in Korzok guaranteed?

Korzok has very limited rooms during the festival window. We confirm stays only after checking availability, and early confirmation is strongly recommended.

Is Umling La guaranteed?

No. Umling La depends on Inner Line Permit status, local authority instructions, weather, road condition and guest altitude health. We attempt it only when conditions are appropriate.

Is this trip suitable for first-time Ladakh travellers?

Yes, if you follow acclimatisation guidance and keep the pace gentle. The itinerary starts in Leh and the team monitors route comfort carefully before moving into the higher Changthang sections.

What should I pack for the festival?

Carry warm layers, a windproof jacket, sun protection, comfortable shoes, personal medicines, a reusable water bottle, power bank, modest clothing for cultural spaces and offline maps.
