A six-day Dharamshala journey works best when the hotel location, cultural visits and mountain walking fit together. Choose the pace first, then decide which experiences deserve a full day.

Your six-day Dharamshala and McLeodganj itinerary

  1. Day 1: Kangra Airport arrival, hotel check-in and Naddi sunset if arrival time and weather allow.
  2. Day 2: Private monk-led mindfulness and mantra prayers, Dalai Lama Temple, Bhagsu, St John’s Church and McLeod Ganj cafés and market lanes.
  3. Day 3: Bhagsu waterfall and forest approach to your private cottage, late lunch and your chosen wellness session.
  4. Day 4: Guided Triund hike, ridge lunch and descent to Bhagsu, then a car transfer to the hotel.
  5. Day 5: Prioritise Norbulingka, Chamunda Devi, the tea garden viewpoint and HPCA stadium with your coordinator; finish with a Himachali Dham.
  6. Day 6: Breakfast and Kangra Airport departure, or the separately quoted Delhi coach option.

Choose a base around how you spend your evenings

For guests who want cafés and market lanes within their town stay, our proposed base is WelcomHeritage Natraj in McLeod Ganj, with the Luxury Room and balcony confirmed in the quotation. Hyatt Regency and Radisson Blu are separately quoted alternatives; they are not automatic substitutions at the same price.

Compare the room and location as well as the hotel name. Ask whether a balcony is included in the booked category, which meals are covered, and how the location changes transfers. Four hotel nights surround the single mountain cottage night in this retreat.

Give culture its own day

Our local day combines a privately arranged monk-led mindfulness session and mantra prayer ceremony with McLeod Ganj exploration. The ceremony lasts approximately one to one-and-a-half hours. The exact appointment shapes the order of the day.

Dalai Lama Temple, St John’s Church, Bhagsu and the bazaar and cafés sit within the local plan, using walking and short transfers as appropriate. A private session does not imply exclusive use of an entire public monastery.

Keep the mountain section together

Day 3 starts with a transfer to Bhagsu Square, followed by the waterfall and forest approach to the cottage. After a late lunch, leave time to rest before the included yoga or body-therapy choice. It is one overnight stop, with your main luggage kept at the hotel.

Day 4 continues uphill to Triund before the lunch stop and long descent to Bhagsu. A vehicle completes the return to the hotel. Avoid placing a flight or an essential outside appointment on that evening; walking pace and conditions affect the return time.

Make the final sightseeing day personal

Norbulingka, Chamunda Devi, a tea garden visit and HPCA stadium form the planned sightseeing day. Opening hours, appointments and traffic determine the order. Tell your coordinator which visits matter most so time at one place does not turn the rest into a checklist.

A tea garden visit is not a promised tasting appointment or access inside a tea factory. The Himachali Dham farewell dinner takes place before departure day, keeping the airport day simpler.

Compare complete quotations

Our base journey begins and ends at Kangra Airport. Flights are separate. The Delhi coach option adds overnight travel outside the five accommodation nights and requires its own quoted transport arrangement.

The written proposal should name the room, party size, taxes, included meals and entrance charges. Breakfast and dinner follow the package meal plan; lunches on ordinary sightseeing days and café purchases are separate. Share dietary preferences and walking comfort before paying a deposit.
