Premium Private Triund Trek & Heated Cottage Stay
A private Triund trek with a bukhari-heated cottage room 2.5 km below the summit: running water, hot water for your bath, Pahari food and a dedicated guide who carries up to 5 kg for you. A room, not a tent.
About this journey
A Private Night in the Dhauladhars. Most Triund packages mean a group departure, a shared tent on the ridge and no running water. This one is private: a dedicated guide for your party, and a mountain cottage 2.5 km below the Triund summit with two rooms, each warmed by a traditional bukhari, solar power with an inverter backup, a Western-style washroom kept for guests, with running water, and hot water for your bath. You start from Bhagsu Square and climb past Bhagsu Waterfall on a quieter route that is about 2 km shorter than the usual trail, reaching the cottage in around three hours with stops. Lunch, a bonfire and a Pahari dinner follow. The next morning Triund is about two hours away with short stops, before you walk back down to McLeod Ganj. Solo ₹7,000, a couple ₹12,500 in total, or ₹5,000 per person for a small group of three or four, each plus 5% GST. Book with ₹2,000 online and pay the rest on arrival.
Day-by-day itinerary
Bhagsu Square → Private Cottage | Into the Dhauladhars
Route: Bhagsu Square → Bhagsu Waterfall → private cottage. The day before, we meet you at your hotel in McLeod Ganj for a pre-trek briefing on the route, fitness, footwear, packing, weather and your meal choices. On the morning of the trek we pick you up from your hotel and drop you at Bhagsu Square, where you meet your dedicated guide; your guide carries up to 5 kg of your things. The route climbs past Bhagsu Waterfall on an old local trail that is about 2 km shorter and quieter than the usual path, and the walk to the cottage takes around three hours with stops. Siddu, Himachali steamed bread with ghee and chutney, and tea welcome you, followed by a Pahari lunch of Bharmour rajma chawal or dal chawal. Evening tea comes with vegetable pakoras and roasted peanuts or makhana by the bonfire, weather and fire-safety rules permitting. Dinner is Himachali khatta meat or vegetarian chana madra with seasonal sabzi, rice, chapatis and gur wale meethe chawal. Your room is warmed by a traditional bukhari; the staff bring hot water for your bath.
Cottage → Triund → McLeod Ganj | The Triund Morning

Is this a camping trek?
No. You sleep in a room at a private mountain cottage, heated by a traditional bukhari. It is not a tent or a shared dormitory.
How is this different from a regular Triund camping package?
Most Triund packages are group departures with shared tents on the ridge. Here your party has its own dedicated guide and stays in a heated cottage room with running water, hot water for bathing, solar power with an inverter backup and meals cooked at the cottage.
What is the washroom like? Is there hot water?
The guest washroom is Western-style, with running water from the tap and in the toilet; the staff use a separate washroom. There is no shower; the cottage staff bring you hot water for your bath.
How far is the cottage from Triund?
The cottage is 2.5 km below the Triund summit, a good base for the climb. From the cottage, Triund takes about two hours with short stops.
Where does the trek start and how long is the walk?
The trek starts at Bhagsu Square and goes past Bhagsu Waterfall on an old local route, about 2 km shorter and less crowded than the usual trail. Reaching the cottage takes around three hours with stops.
Do I have to carry my own bag?
Your dedicated guide carries up to 5 kg of your things, so you can walk with a light daypack. If you add an extension to Indrahar Pass, Laka Glacier or the Snowline, a porter is included with it.
Is it suitable for couples, solo travellers and solo women?
Yes. Couples and solo travellers get a dedicated guide, and solo women travellers can ask for a female guide. The trip is private, so only your party walks with the guide.
We are a family or a small group. Can we book?
Yes, up to four guests can stay at the cottage. Rooms are on double sharing; for a family or group, one extra mattress can be added per room. Ask on WhatsApp for a quote for your party.
Can you also arrange our hotel in McLeod Ganj?
Yes, on request. We can add hotel nights in McLeod Ganj or Dharamshala before or after the trek and confirm the hotel and price before you pay.
How fit do I need to be?
The trek is moderate and suits active beginners with reasonable fitness. Expect uneven paths and sustained uphill and downhill walking, and wear trekking shoes with good grip.
Is reaching the Triund summit guaranteed?
No. The summit visit depends on weather, trail conditions and safety on the day. Your guide may change the plan if conditions are unsafe.
How do I book and pay?
Choose your package and date on this page and pay a ₹2,000 booking amount online through Razorpay. We confirm your date on WhatsApp. The balance is paid on arrival in McLeod Ganj, at your pre-trek briefing, by UPI or cash. The booking amount is adjusted against your total.
What if the cottage is not available on my date?
We confirm availability after your booking. If the cottage is not free on your date, you can move to another date or receive a full refund of the ₹2,000 booking amount.
Can I change my date?
Yes, free of charge, as long as the cottage is available on your new date. If weather or an official trail closure stops the trek, we move you to a new date at no cost. For any other reason, ask for the change at least 72 hours before the trek; the new date should be within six months.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel 7 or more days before the trek for a full refund of the ₹2,000 booking amount. Within 7 days of the trek, the booking amount is not refundable, but you can still move your date once, free of charge, subject to availability. If we cancel because of unsafe weather or an official closure and no new date suits you, we refund the booking amount in full. Nothing else is payable until you arrive.
What if the weather turns during the trek?
Your guide decides on the day. If the walk to Triund becomes unsafe after you reach the cottage, the guide may shorten or change the route; this is not refundable, as the stay, meals and guiding are still provided.
