7-night, 8-day Winter Spiti itinerary

1. Day 0: Delhi / Chandigarh → Shimla

   Departure: According to selected bus or taxi schedule. Route: Delhi / Chandigarh → Shimla. Altitude: Shimla area approximately 2,200m. Choose an overnight bus from Delhi or a confirmed bus connection from Chandigarh, or request a private taxi to Shimla at additional cost. Private charter flights to Chandigarh and onward road transfers are available on request, separately quoted. Boarding points and reporting times are shared before travel. Bus nights sit outside the seven accommodation nights.

2. Day 1: Shimla | A woodland beginning

   Departure: Rest day; outing after settling in. Route: Shimla arrival; optional Mall / Ridge outing. Altitude: Shimla area approximately 2,200m. Arrive in Shimla and settle into your selected heated stay. Leave the day light after the journey, with time for rest and a warm meal. A gentle Mall and Ridge outing can be arranged if you feel rested and conditions allow; transfers account for the property location. Early check-in depends on availability and is confirmed separately.

3. Day 2: Shimla → Sangla | Into the Baspa Valley

   Departure: Early morning after breakfast. Route: Shimla → Narkanda → Rampur → Karcham → Sangla. Altitude: Sangla approximately 2,700m. Leave after breakfast and follow the road through Kinnaur towards Sangla. Allow the day for travel, with sensible meal breaks and photography stops where the road permits. Settle into your heated room or cottage on arrival and spend the evening in the Baspa Valley.

   Stay: Premium: Kamru Duplex Cottages / Kinner Camps, with winter room category confirmed. Luxury: Banjara Camps & Retreat, selected indoor room category.

4. Day 3: Sangla → Chitkul → Sangla | Time in the valley

   Departure: After breakfast, subject to clearance. Route: Sangla → Rakchham → Chitkul → Sangla. Altitude: Chitkul approximately 3,450m; overnight Sangla approximately 2,700m. Travel towards Chitkul only when its approach road is safely accessible. Explore the village at an easy pace, with short walks and photography stops suited to conditions, before returning to Sangla. If snow or ice closes the approach, spend the day in accessible Sangla and Rakchham areas. Your local team confirms the route.

   Stay: Premium: Kamru Duplex Cottages / Kinner Camps, with winter room category confirmed. Luxury: Banjara Camps & Retreat, selected indoor room category.

5. Day 4: Sangla → Tabo | The road into Spiti

   Departure: Early morning after breakfast. Route: Sangla → Karcham → Pooh → Khab → Nako approach → Sumdo → Tabo. Altitude: Tabo Monastery approximately 3,050m; exact hotel elevation varies. Start early for a substantial transfer day into Spiti. A brief Nako stop can be included when roads and daylight allow. Gue remains an weather-dependent stop only when the team considers the extra driving practical. Reach Tabo, settle into your heated accommodation and rest.

   Stay: Maitreya Regency / Tow Dhey Himalaya Hotel or similar; selected category confirmed in proposal.

6. Day 5: Tabo → Kaza | Monasteries along the way

   Departure: After breakfast and the Tabo visit. Route: Tabo → Schichling → Kaza; Dhankar detour if accessible. Altitude: Kaza approximately 3,650m; Dhankar approximately 3,870m if visited. Visit Tabo Monastery when visitor access is available, then continue towards Kaza. Dhankar can be included if its approach road is accessible and conditions are suitable. Keep the afternoon gentle on arrival; time to settle in matters as the journey reaches higher altitude.

   Stay: Premium: Sakya Abode (room heating; no heated flooring) / The Zambori (Rangrik, near Kaza) / House on the Clouds (Chicham, subject to winter access and acclimatisation) or similar; Luxury: Sakya Abode heated-floor room / The Zambori / House on the Clouds upgraded room category, subject to availability and confirmation.

7. Day 6: Kaza Local | Follow the winter window

   Departure: After breakfast and local road check. Route: Kaza → Key → Kibber → Chicham → Kaza, subject to safe access. Altitude: Kibber approximately 4,205m if visited; overnight Kaza approximately 3,650m. The intended local circuit includes Key Monastery, Kibber and Chicham, subject to safe access. Langza, Hikkim and Komic are planned subject to weather and safe access when roads, daylight and guest wellbeing permit. The team chooses the final circuit locally, with time for breaks and village visits. Snowfall, wildlife sightings and access to every attraction are not guaranteed.

   Stay: Premium: Sakya Abode (room heating; no heated flooring) / The Zambori (Rangrik, near Kaza) / House on the Clouds (Chicham, subject to winter access and acclimatisation) or similar; Luxury: Sakya Abode heated-floor room / The Zambori / House on the Clouds upgraded room category, subject to availability and confirmation.

8. Day 7: Kaza → Kalpa | Back through Kinnaur

   Departure: Early morning after breakfast. Route: Kaza → Tabo → Sumdo → Khab → Reckong Peo → Kalpa. Altitude: Kalpa approximately 2,760m. Depart early and retrace the accessible route towards Kinnaur. This is a long transfer day, with stops decided around road conditions and daylight. Settle into your heated stay in Kalpa for the final hotel night. Mountain views depend on visibility.

   Stay: Kinner Villa / Grand Shamba-la; luxury selected upgraded Grand Shamba-la room where available.

9. Day 8: Kalpa → Shimla | Begin the journey home

   Departure: Early morning; onward connection according to confirmed service. Route: Kalpa → Reckong Peo → Rampur → Narkanda → Shimla. Altitude: Shimla area approximately 2,200m. After breakfast, return to Shimla for your selected onward connection. Bus guests board their confirmed Delhi or Chandigarh service; private transfers are available at additional cost. Allow a sensible connection buffer. Your proposal explains arrangements and charges for weather delays, extra nights and missed connections. Delhi arrival by overnight bus is expected the following morning, Day 9, subject to the service.

How long is the journey?

Are accommodation and meals included?

Which vehicle will we use?

Can we start from Delhi or Chandigarh?

Choose Delhi or Chandigarh bus boarding, or a private taxi to Shimla at additional cost. Private charter flights to Chandigarh and onward transfers are available on request, subject to operator availability and clearances. Return bus connections from your selected city are included; private taxis and charter flights are quoted separately.

Can we add a Chandigarh hotel stay?

Yes. Add a Chandigarh stay before or after the journey, with required transfers separately quoted. Extension nights are additional to the standard seven nights.

Are Chitkul and all Kaza villages guaranteed?

No. Weather, road clearance, permissions and guest wellbeing decide access. The team may replace Chitkul with accessible Sangla or Rakchham outings and adjust the Kaza circuit. Snowfall and wildlife sightings are never guaranteed.

What are the ultra-luxury upgrades?

Wildflower Hall in Shimla and Doksa in Maney Village are separately quoted upgrades. A Doksa proposal states whether it replaces a night or adds nights, with revised route, transfers and duration. Remote Tabo and Kaza comfort differs from city luxury hotels.

What does the price cover?

What if weather delays the journey?

The team follows safe, permitted roads and may adjust stops or overnight locations. Your written proposal states the applicable cancellation terms and charges for additional nights, extra transfers and missed connections. Keep flexibility in onward travel.

Will we have mobile signal and Wi-Fi?

Connectivity varies along the route and can fail in winter. Confirm current operator coverage with the team before departure, download essential documents and maps, and do not rely on continuous Wi-Fi.
