Triund Trek Daily Departure from McLeod Ganj: Join a Small Group

No fixed weekend, no bus from Delhi, no group of twenty. How our daily Triund departure works, who it suits and what it costs.

By Himalayan Locals Editorial Team

Most Triund group trips are built around a weekend: a Friday-night bus from Delhi, a crowd at the trailhead and a night in a camp with everyone else who booked the same package. If you are already in McLeod Ganj or Bhagsu, or simply want to choose your own day, there is an easier way. Our Triund trek leaves every day, from wherever you are staying, in a small group, with a warm cottage room for the night.

A Triund trek that leaves every day

  • It runs every day, even if you are the only guest who booked that date.
  • At 10:00 am we pick you up from your stay in McLeod Ganj, Bhagsu or anywhere within 3 km.
  • Your guide briefs you at the start point at Bhagsu Square, hands out your energy kit and carries up to 5 kg of your things.
  • You walk past Bhagsu Waterfall on a quiet forest route, about three hours with stops, to a heated cottage 2.5 km below Triund.
  • The next morning Triund is about two hours away. After the views, you walk down to Bhagsu and a vehicle drops you back at your stay.

Small, and on same-gender sharing

This is a small group of up to four, never a crowd of 15 or 30 behind one leader, so your guide's attention stays on you: your pace, food cooked for a handful of guests, no queue for the washroom and time to stop for photos and the sunrise. Rooms are on double sharing, and on the daily departure we pair guests by gender: women share with women, men with men, and couples stay together. If you travel alone, you share a room with a guest of the same gender. If you would rather not share at all, the private trek gives your group the whole cottage.
